Workshop Terms & Conditions

Who these terms are with

These terms are an agreement between you and Manash LLC ("Manash", "we", "us"), which runs cooking, bread and pastry workshops in Orange County, California.

By booking a seat you confirm you have read and accepted these terms on behalf of yourself and everyone in your booking.

Booking and payment

A seat is confirmed only once payment has been completed. Until then the seat is not held.

All prices are in US dollars and include the meal, ingredients, an apron and a recipe booklet unless the workshop description says otherwise.

Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you give us, including the email address and phone number we use to reach you.

Cancellation policy

Because our workshops have limited seating, each reservation is held specifically for you.

7 days or more before the workshop: 100% credit toward a future workshop.

48 hours to 7 days before the workshop: 50% credit toward a future workshop.

Less than 48 hours before the workshop, or a no-show: no credit will be issued.

This policy allows us to plan ingredients, supplies, and seating for each workshop.

Credit is toward a future Manash workshop. Workshop fees are not refunded in cash.

Please check the date, day and time carefully before completing your registration, so a scheduling clash does not become a lost seat.

If we have to cancel or change a workshop

If we cancel a workshop for any reason, you choose between a full refund to your original payment method or credit towards a future workshop.

Occasionally a menu changes because of what is available or in season. Where the change is significant we will tell you beforehand, and you may take credit instead if you prefer.

We are not responsible for your travel or accommodation costs if a workshop is cancelled or changed.

Food allergies and dietary requirements

This is the most important section of these terms. Please read it carefully.

You must tell us about every allergy and dietary requirement for everyone in your booking, at the time of booking. If something changes, tell us as soon as you can and at least one week before the workshop where possible.

Our kitchen regularly handles wheat and gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, peanuts, sesame, and other common allergens. Everything is prepared in the same space, using shared equipment and surfaces.

For that reason we cannot guarantee that any dish is free from any given allergen, and we cannot guarantee the absence of cross-contact. We will do our best to accommodate what you tell us, but we cannot promise a controlled environment.

If you have a severe allergy or anaphylaxis, please speak to us before you book so we can be honest with you about whether we can keep you safe. Bring any medication you may need, including an adrenaline auto-injector if you carry one.

You remain responsible for deciding what you and your guests eat.

Food you take home

Workshops are prepared in a permitted home kitchen in accordance with applicable local health regulations.

Food you take home is your responsibility from the moment it leaves. Please refrigerate it promptly where appropriate and eat it within a sensible time. We cannot be responsible for food that has been stored or handled incorrectly after the workshop.

Safety in the kitchen

A workshop is a hands-on cooking class. You will handle sharp knives, hot ovens, hot pans, boiling liquids and electrical equipment. Floors can become wet or slippery.

By attending, you confirm that you are taking part voluntarily and of your own free will. You accept that cooking carries an inherent risk of injury, including burns and cuts, and you agree to take reasonable care of yourself and others.

You must follow instructions given during the workshop. We may ask anyone to stop an activity, or to leave, if we believe they are putting themselves or others at risk. No refund or credit is given where someone is asked to leave for this reason.

Tell us before the workshop about any medical condition, mobility need or pregnancy that may affect your participation, so we can plan sensibly.

Coming to a private home

Workshops take place in a private residence. Please treat it as you would any home you were invited into.

Please arrive on time so we can begin together. Everything is timed around dough and the table, so arriving late may mean you miss part of the workshop, and we cannot extend the session or transfer the fee for time missed.

Please wash your hands before handling any ingredients, and help us keep the workspace clean throughout.

Please keep phones off the worktable — we are working with food.

Everything you need is provided: ingredients, tools, an apron and a printed recipe booklet. There is no need to bring anything.

Bring only what you need. We cannot accept responsibility for personal belongings that are lost or damaged.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted. For health and safety reasons, pets are not permitted at workshops.

Guests under 18

Guests under 18 are welcome, but only when accompanied throughout by a parent or legal guardian who is also attending the workshop.

A person under 18 cannot agree to these terms themselves. If your booking includes a minor, you confirm at booking that you are their parent or legal guardian, that you accept these terms on their behalf, and that you will supervise them for the whole workshop.

We may limit which tasks a younger guest takes part in, particularly anything involving sharp knives or hot equipment.

Photographs and video

We often photograph and film workshops, and we share that on our website and on social media, including Instagram. This is how the workshops are shown to people considering booking.

By attending, you agree that we may take photographs and video that include you, and use them to show and promote Manash, without payment to you.

You can decline. Tick the box when you book, or simply tell us on the day, and we will keep you out of anything we publish. Saying no makes no difference to your booking and is never awkward.

If something of you has already been published and you would like it removed, contact us and we will take it down.

You are very welcome to photograph and film your own work and the baking itself. Please do not record Saeedeh while she is teaching. A recording of the class is shared with everyone who attended, so nothing is missed.

After each workshop we share class photographs, videos, recipes and any updates in a private group for that workshop. Joining is optional. Photographs shared there may include other guests, so please treat them as you would want yours treated, and do not repost images of other people without asking them.

Emails about future workshops

When you book, we add your email address to a short list we use to tell people when a new workshop opens. You can untick that box at booking if you would rather we didn't, and it makes no difference to your booking.

We use it for that and nothing else. We do not sell or rent the list, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not send anything beyond news of new dates and occasional word about the workshops themselves.

Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes one tap. Once you do, we will not add you back — booking again does not put you back on the list, and you would have to sign up again yourself.

This is separate from the emails we have to send you about a booking. Your confirmation, directions, a reminder, and anything about a workshop being changed or cancelled will always reach you whether you are on the list or not.

Recipes and materials

The recipe booklet and any materials we give you are for your own personal use. Please do not reproduce or sell them, or teach them as a paid class of your own, without our permission.

You are of course free to cook everything you learn, as often as you like, for anyone you like. That is the entire point.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under California law.

Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with a workshop is limited to the amount you paid for that workshop.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost earnings or missed events.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your booking are the ones published when you booked, and the version you agreed to is recorded with your booking.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of Orange County, California.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
