Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect only what we need to run your booking and cook for you safely. We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising.

We do send a short email when a new workshop opens, to guests who booked and to anyone who signed up for it on our website. Every one of those emails has a one-tap unsubscribe link.

Who is responsible for your information

Manash LLC, Orange County, California, is responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us through the contact details on our contact page.

What we collect

When you book a workshop: your name, email address, phone number, the number of seats, and any dietary requirements or allergies you tell us about. We also record whether you agreed to these terms and when, whether you asked not to be photographed, and whether you left the workshop-emails box ticked.

When you pay: your payment is handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation that payment succeeded and the amount. We never receive or store your full card number.

When you sign up for workshop emails on our website: your email address, the language you were reading in, and the date you confirmed it. We record the confirmation because it is what shows the address was given by the person who owns it.

Optionally: how you heard about us, if you choose to tell us.

If you email or message us: whatever you choose to write to us.

Allergy and dietary information

Information about allergies and dietary needs can reveal something about your health, so we treat it with particular care.

We use it only to plan and prepare food for your workshop. It is visible to Saeedeh, who does the cooking, and is not shared with anyone else or used for any other purpose.

Why we use it

To hold your seat and take payment.

To cook safely for you, which is why we ask about allergies.

To send you a booking confirmation, directions, and a reminder before the workshop.

To contact you if a workshop changes or is cancelled.

To tell you when a new workshop opens, if you are on our email list. You can leave that list at any time from any of those emails, and doing so does not affect anything to do with a booking.

To keep basic business records, including for tax purposes.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of services to run the site. Each sees only what it needs:

Stripe processes payments. Vercel hosts the website. Supabase stores bookings and workshop details. Resend sends the confirmation emails and the workshop announcements.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

After a workshop we share photographs, videos and recipes in a private group for the people who attended. Joining is optional, and the group is run on a third-party messaging service, so anything shared there is also handled by that service.

We may disclose information where the law requires it.

Cookies and tracking

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics or tracking on this site.

Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary cookies so the site works, and if you sign in to the private admin area a session is stored in your browser so you stay signed in.

How long we keep it

Booking records are kept while they are needed to run the business and to meet tax and accounting obligations — generally several years.

Allergy notes are only needed for the workshop itself, and are not kept longer than the booking record they belong to.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us and we will respond.

You can ask not to be photographed, at booking or on the day, and you can ask us to remove a photograph that has already been published.

California residents have rights over their personal information under California law, including the right to know what is collected and to request deletion. We will honour those requests regardless of whether we are strictly required to.

Children

The website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Where a booking includes a guest under 18, the information is provided by their parent or guardian.

Security

Bookings are stored in a database that is not publicly readable, and access is limited to Saeedeh. Payment details never reach our systems.

No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care with what you give us.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top.
